Let springtime begin . . . "Grandma's House" is a fine example of Romantic Realism Art with its dreamy, whimsical feelings. It is a slice of life that has been softened and brightened by beloved memories. The peace it conveys reminds me of the calm and stability I gained from the love of my two grandmothers.
"Grandma's House" has peaceful colors and many reminders of springtime. The house is in my small town. The people who live in it keep it painted in attractive colors that are historically accurate, like a storybook house. An enchanted house, a Victorian "Painted Lady"!

Thank you, Brian, for your heartwarming words! Good news: the family has restored the house to its beauty. A few years ago the family added a "witch's cap" - which is not shown in the painting - as the house had when it was first built. A "witch's cap" is an upside-down cone roof peak in "Queen Anne Architecture."
