Artist Nancy Lee Moran took her own photos of foxes in early June 2020, then developed the watercolor design in Photoshop in autumn 2021.
The foxes came out of the woodland near sunset in order to hunt mice that lived in an old concrete structure that was crumbling. While I (Nancy) never approached them, they grew accustomed to me sitting quietly nearby. These kits had probably been born in late March and had remained in the den for about 50 days.
