Description
Kind Enchantments #03, Fairy Series by Nancy Lee Moran
A note from my fairy journal:
In early June, with rain falling all around, she had only a leaf for cover, a leaf as her solace. She lived in the elfin woodland of Pisgah National Forest (North Carolina, USA), near Asheville and Brevard, in the land of waterfalls and Appalachian Mountains. From under my umbrella in 2003, I watched her quietly, soft padding of raindrops as the only sounds. During summer 2009 and May 2010, I spent hours painting my memories of her home: a mossy stump, ferns, ivy, and grape hyacinths.
Since the original oil painting is small, I enhanced and refined a scan of it with some digital painting on Photoshop. Now it can be reproduced at larger print sizes with great beauty and detail.

Nancy Lee, I love your “kind enchantments” collection...the level of detail and reverence for Nature is evident. When I develop what I call “ glorious tangles”, it begins as a prayer...and returns in the grace-full dance of Inspiration. I suspect something similar is happening in this beauty. The fragile details of her wings and transparency of her rain soaked silken gauze dress ...are BREATHtaking!..LF
Nancy Lee Moran replied:
Truly, Laurel - it was a joy and inspiration to look carefully at the Pisgah National Forest - and to imagine little beings tucked into the verdant growth. Thank you for your kind encouragement of my art journey.
