Description

I have drawn three papillon dogs in colored pencil, pastel pencil, and ink on Arches watercolor paper. The background is a color variation of my design "Blender I for Meadow Flowers" fabric. Some names for the background color are ash brown, beige grey, bronze grey, brown rice, mushroom brown, and warm gray.

The outer color has names like silvery light blue, whisper blue, soft sky, and platinum. It is harmonious, with subtle curving lines that I drew on Photoshop.

The leaves in the design come from my design of broccoli leaves from my garden.

I have been blessed to share my life with four papillons, the last two that were adults needing new homes.

Graceful Butterfly Dogs! Papillon dogs are affectionate and intense, highly intelligent and trainable. They notice the smallest changes and bark to alert everyone. Being dependent (needing lots of attention and reassurance) they like to sleep with “the pack,” snuggled up close to friends (human or dog companions).

Papillons do best with a fenced-in yard and a daily walk. The fence protects them from large dogs while they romp and explore. They should not be handled by young children as papillons have fragile bones and might be dropped and seriously injured. They are easy to wash and tend to stay fairly clean.
