Description
I put one of my beloved pastel paintings of sisters into a quilt design. The violet-hued flowers came from a photo that I took in my friend Mary's garden. While I considered getting a quilt-layout template, instead I experimented with lines on a square. In springtime colors, all of inside designs are my original watercolors, photos, and soft-pastels art © Nancy Lee Moran
Two sisters enjoy pretend tea in the shade of a tree on an Iowa farm in early summer. Teddy bear and dolly join the fun, sitting on a quilt sewn by the great-grandmother of the girls. Soybeans grow in the background, showing promise of a fine harvest when autumn comes. The pastel teddy is sewn from chenille, a fabric that is named from a caterpillar whose fur the yarn is supposed to resemble, which makes the bear great for cuddles.
