Description
Nancy Lee Moran took this photo in her studio, in natural window light on October 5, 2016. It shows two dolls by Helen Kish, toddler Tagalong Tatum and girl Lark. On both dolls, Nancy Lee removed the factory face-paint. She then painted the faces herself in 2016, including the eyes. She also made French braids in Lark's mohair wig. Tatum is wearing a smocked dress by the Boneka company. Lark wears a dress created by hand, sewn in 2011 by Tracy of SewManyDreams. The dresses are batiste, which is a lightweight, semi-sheer cotton fabric often used for heirloom sewing.
Tatum is eight inches tall (20 cm), with five joints. Lark is 14 inches tall (35 cm), with thirteen joints. Helen Kish introduced in 2007 her Chrysalis Series of 14" ball-jointed vinyl dolls like Lark. Each Chrysalis doll has thirteen joints (neck, shoulders, knees, wrists, hips at leg, knees and ankles). Each can stand and balance on her own without a doll stand.
