Description
For the central motif, I used daisies and roses from my oil painting "Colordance of Summer" (which is also on Fine Art America). On Photoshop, I changed the orientation and colors of the flowers to create decorative art suited to the amethyst-lavender background. Color inspiration for the top rose came from the Blue Bayou rose (a shade of pink). The bottom rose was inspired by colors of a rose named Distant Drums. Distant Drums has ruffled petals that are bronze-brown in the center shading to lavender toward the edges.

The Border
The flowers that I used as references for the border were part of a bouquet from my daughter Emily Rose. While painting in oil, I appreciated the creamy white of the tulip as it compared with the snow white of the daisy. The cornflowers are a color often called Dutch blue and cornflower blue. The 10 x 14 inches painting is the same proportion as a 5 x 7 greeting card.
While I painted the border with a quiet-gray background, my son Gregg helped me use Photoshop to offer other background choices: Dutch blue, eggplant, lavender, gray, and peach.
See it with other colors in the background on my blog page:
