Description
In the painting, "Summer Joy," bright flowers abound, while a birdhouse is ready to be hung.
In summer 2014, I was inspired by the garden of Mary Lynch in the town where I live. I took photos and made many sketches and color notes in her garden, thanks to Mary's kindness. "Summer Joy" is my first oil painting from my research there. The wicker took a long time to paint, which gave me new appreciation for craftspersons who build wicker furniture.
The original oil painting is available at Lewis Art Gallery in Omaha, Nebraska. It's easy to phone the friendly staff toll-free at 800-306-7733. Have an oil painting mailed to you worldwide!

Craig posted on Facebook: "The art makes me want to hang the bird house, sit in the chair, and watch the birds!" I hope you agree!
